Executive Director

The St. George Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Board seeks an Executive Director to oversee the chamber’s initiatives, campaigns, and efforts within St. George City, Utah and participating surrounding areas.

The Executive Director must be committed to understanding the unique dynamics of Southern Utah and its blend of rich cultural heritage, strong entrepreneurial spirit, and the opportunities and challenges of its phenomenal growth. An Ideal candidate will possess the ability to lead with vision, build bridges and opportunities, and one who can actively listen to the community at large. The director will work in collaboration with vital stakeholders in the shared endeavor of creating an atmosphere where the businesses, and thereby the people of Southern Utah can thrive.

The St. George Area Chamber of Commerce is a hub for meaningful growth providing businesses the guidance and relationships they need to take their next step. Listening to their needs, we measure the pulse of what will help them thrive, then provide resources, training, networking, and legislative advocacy based on that pulse.

 

Responsibilities

 

· Coordinate the creation and implementation of a SGAC Strategic Plan

· Prepare and manage the SGAC budgets and finances

· Supervise, support, and train the SGAC staff

· Develop and execute community campaigns and initiatives

· Retain current SGAC members and recruit new members

· Offer political advocacy between governments, members, businesses, and other stakeholders

· Offer networking, education, and support to SGAC members

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

· Bachelor’s degree

· Seven to ten years professional experience

· Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills

· Proven problem solving and managerial skills

· Ability to exercise important human relations skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with the SGAC members, staff, and partners

· High integrity as demonstrated by having the ability the make and communicate hard decisions and opinions, as well as being able to articulate the reasoning for such decisions and opinions

 

Pay & Benefits

 

The St George Area Chamber of Commerce considers wages and benefits currently in the profession, in the community for comparable work, cost of living, training, experience, and the value of the position to the organization. An offer commensurate with experience will be negotiated and issued to a successful candidate by the board of directors.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Experience: relevant: 7 years (Preferred)

Education: Bachelor’s (Preferred)
