Dixie Regional Medical Center is a 245-bed hospital on two campuses in St. George: one on River Road and one at 400 East. The hospital is the major medical referral center for northwestern Arizona, southeastern Nevada and southern Utah. Intermountain’s mission is helping people live the healthiest lives possible. Dixie features a LiVe Well Center where residents can obtain health coaching and classes to help them get well, stay well and live well for the rest of their lives. The hospital is nationally regarded for outcomes in heart and stroke care, newborn intensive care, Intermountain’s Southwest Cancer Center, neurosurgery and advanced trauma care. Other Intermountain facilities in Washington County include InstaCare and primary care clinics at the hospital’s River Road campus, on Sunset Boulevard, and in Hurricane. Community ties to the hospital are strong. As a charitable not-for-profit, Dixie funded $35 million in charity care last year.

Gamma West Cancer Services is renowned for its success in treating prostate, breast and other cancers using brachytherapy or External Beam Radiation. Brachytherapy is the practice of treating cancer by placing radiation directly into the cancer tissue. This is a highly specialized field where experience is critical. Gamma West board certified physicians, Dr. Ray Richards and Dr. James Clarke, have successfully performed thousands of these procedures. Coral Desert Imaging Center provides physicians and the community the most advanced diagnostic imaging techniques currently available in the healthcare industry. They offer the only MRI in Washington County. The Phillips MRI system provides great patient comfort during the exams. All of their technologists are registered and certified.

Southwest Behavioral Health Center (SBHC) is focused on enriching lives; promoting wellness and recovery from severe mental illness and addiction through education, prevention and integrated behavioral health services. Southwest provides a comprehensive array of mental health and substance abuse treatment services to those most in need within our community. In addition to being the behavioral health provider for all Medicaid enrollees in the southwest 5-county area, SBHC also serves those whose needs require the full continuum of behavioral health care. Southwest strives to build communities in which citizens enjoy lives free from the stigma and disability of addition and mental illness.

The Southwest Utah Public Health Department (SWUPHD) is dedicated to protecting the community’s health through the promotion of wellness and the prevention of disease. We are your local health department, providing a wide range of services; including immunizations, health screenings (cholesterol, blood sugar, anemia, etc.), international travel consultation, WIC, Baby Your Baby, vital records (birth and death certificates), disease tracking, car seat installation classes and discounted car seats, free stop-smoking resources, food handler permits, temporary mass gathering/event food permits, restaurant inspections, septic system inspections, water sampling, and emergency preparedness resources.

Quality nursing, Acute Rehab, Memory Care, and Long Term Care services are provided for Veterans with U.S. Military service during peacetime or wartime. A Veteran’s spouse or surviving spouse may also qualify for admittance to Southern Utah Veterans Home. Veterans with service connected disabilities 70% and above receive care with no out of pocket cost.

Home Health Care in Washington County
Home health is a cost effective alternative to transition from hospital and nursing home care. Services include, but are not limited to; skilled nursing, home health aides, physical, speech and occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, dietary consultation, and social work. Home Health services are fully funded by Medicare, Medicaid, state and local governments, and most private insurances.
