Tuacahn is a world-class professional theatre surrounded by stunning 1,500 foot red cliffs near St. George. In addition to Broadway caliber live theatre, Tuacahn also features great concerts in the spring and fall.

The stunning 2,000-seat outdoor Tanner Amphitheater, nestled beneath the towering cliffs of Zion National Park, provides a perfect setting for their summer Twilight Concert Series on Saturday nights from May through August. A multi-discipline series is presented each season including symphony, bluegrass, country, jazz and contemporary dance. Owned and operated by Dixie State University, the facility also features a conference center for classes, workshops and retreats.

The Southwest Symphony Orchestra performs at the Cox Performing Arts Center on the campus of Dixie State University.

As the cornerstone of the arts in Southern Utah, the Southwest Symphony is now in its 36th season. The 75-member orchestra, conducted by Maestro Lucas Darger, fulfills a role in the community as a viable cultural resource of symphonic music and educational advocacy.  The Symphony also presents the annual Handel’s Messiah.as a gift to the community, thanks to its many community sponsors.  As a 501(c) 3 entity, the Symphony relies on funding through public and private sources.

Founded in 1994 as part of the St. George Temple Visitors’ Center, the Southern Utah Heritage Choir has become a musical voice for all seasons in Utah’s Color Country.  This 200 voice ensemble, consisting of musicians from all walks of life and many different faiths, unites local citizens for special community celebrations, formal concerts, and patriotic events and has presented music throughout America and internationally on concert tours.  The choir is under the direction of Dr. Nancy Allred, Artistic Director and Dr. Ken Peterson, Conductor.

Silver Reef was a mining town from the mid to late 1800s and became a ghost town in the 1900s. The Wells Fargo Express Stop, built in 1877, is now a museum and gift shop. For events and lectures happening every fourth weekend of the month, visit their website.

St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm

The St George Dinosaur Discovery Site at Johnson Farm houses a collection of dinosaur tracks, fossilized fish, plants, and other animals, essentially preserving an entire Late Triassic ecosystem. The tracks date to 200 million years ago and contain unique tail drags, swim tracks, and a highly unusual crouching track.
