An active police force in St George prevents most crimes before they occur. The 93+ sworn officers in the St George Police Department along with neighborhood representatives have implemented a community Action Team method of addressing specific quality lf life issues that fact each of the 10 districts in St. George.

A very active bicycle patrol and school resource officers placed in each of the middle schools and high schools allow officers to interact with residents and students in the effort to detect and prevent crime, rather than play catch-up.

This, coupled with a very active Volunteers In Public Safety (VIPS) citizen patrol that works hand-in-hand with police and code enforcement, helps to maintain a high quality of life. Residents appreciate and participate in maintaining the degree of safety that is present in our community.

It is the mission of the St. George Police Department to work with the citizens of the community to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote individual responsibility and community commitment.
