St George Internet Access

St. George has a number of affordable high-bandwidth Internet services available for both home and business. Currently, most local ISPs offer dedicated T1 services as well as a number of DSL, wireless, cable and dial-up Internet options.

Award Winning Internet, InfoWest, South Central Internet and Xmission offer consumer and business-level 256 kbps to 6 mbps DSL services through the local telephone company, Qwest Communications.

Fixed broadband wireless Internet access is available via SkyView Wireless and local ISP InfoWest. InfoWest and SkyView are working to expand their systems with the goal of covering most of the valley in the next year.

Qwest has recently improved redundancy for their fiber optic connections in the area. In addition, the recently completed Utah Interlinx fiber optic network provides an alternate redundant fiber connection to the regional fiber backbone. Interlinx fiber optic loops installed through the area are also used for business-level high speed Internet access (up to one gigabit per second) through local ISP InfoWest as well as other national service providers.

Most local ISPs offer a variety of web hosting options. InfoWest recently completed a secure datacenter and now offers server colocation with redundant power, fiber optics and fire suppression systems. The Tonaquint Center has also announced plans for a large datacenter in their high tech business park.
