This week's luncheon will be held on Wednesday, July 15th, 2009
The luncheon this week will be held at the The Courtyard by Marriott from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm. Lunch is served promptly at 11:45. Please arrive early to be seated by 12:00 noon. The luncheon cost is $13.00 per plate. The public is invited. This luncheon will be presented by Speaker of the House, Dave Clark, and will focus on the fiscal affairs of Utah. The Utah Foster Care Foundation (UFCF) was created by the state legislature in 1999 in response to the need for more foster families for the Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS). The community can help UFCF in their mission by supporting recruitment efforts, becoming a partner in parenting, and supporting those selfless families who care for children in foster care. DSC Sears Art Museum Gallery Presents Dual Summer Art Exhibit Now through July 31
The Sears Art Museum Gallery at the Dixie State College of Utah Dolores Dore? Eccles Fine Arts Center is currently presenting a dual summer art exhibit, featuring two talented artists from southwestern Utah, including Cedar City?s Fiona Phillips and part-time Apple Valley resident Paul Fuentes. WHATS HAPPENING
UDOT Region 4 Weekly Construction Report
The Utah Department of Transportation has selected to reconstruct parts of I-15 and various roadways in the Washington County Area. Finish work on West Sunset Boulevard in St. George to Santa Clara will continue this week. No major traffic impacts are expected. On I-15; Washington To Cottonwood Creek, Milepost 10 to 19, there will be nighttime paving, excavation and grading of new auxilliary lane, guardrail installationand retaining wall construction near new cuts. Single lane closures from mileposts 16 - 19. Intermittent lane closures during the evening. All lanes are open during the daytime from mileposts 10 - 16. All lanes are open during weekends. On State Route 18, between I-15 and Dixie National Forest (Milepost 5.3 to 6.3 North of St. George), the contractor will be moving equipment into the area. Grading of shoulders may begin as early as Tuesday. Traffice impacts will be minor. East of Hurricane, on State Route 9, (milepost 0 to 5), work will proceed east of Coral Canyons working toward 3700 West. Rotomilling and paving will be taking place simultaneously. Shoulder work will extend throughout the same area. Expect single lane closures on weekdays and some backing at intersections.
