Ensure You're Insured!!!
Commissioner Sherrie Hayashi encourages employers to review company safety plans and ensure employee protection. One way to protect your employees, is to have workers? compensation (WC) insurance coverage. Accidents do happen. In 2008, there were 68,432 reported workplace injuries. The Utah Labor Commission investigated 2,279 of over 86,000 Utah employers for WC non-compliance. By law, almost all employers must cover their employees with workers? compensation insurance. In the event of a workplace injury or disease, workers? compensation (WC) pays medical costs and partial wage replacement during recovery, sometimes for a lifetime. WC insurance pays without regard to fault and its exclusive remedy protects Utah employers. For the full letter, Click Here
