This week's luncheon will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Best Western Abbey Inn
The luncheon will be held from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm. Lunch is served promptly at 11:45. Please arrive early to be seated by 12:00 noon. The luncheon cost is $13.00 per plate. The public is invited. Dixie State College Artist’s Showcase in the Sears Gallery
The Sears Art Museum Gallery at the Dixie State College of Utah Dolores Dore’ Eccles Fine Arts Center presents the annual Dixie State Artist’s Showcase. The showcase runs from April 3, 2009 to May 1, 2009. The showcase will feature a wide variety of art media, including drawings, paintings, photography, ceramic and mixed media pieces, most of which were created and produced in DSC art classes. A number of student projects and pieces will be on display, along with entries from DSC faculty members Glen Blakely, Dennis Martinez and Del Parson. The exhibit, which is free and open to the public.Exhibit hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Zion Flute and Drum Festival

Eagles in the Sky
Queen size is hardly big enough to hold all the "Eagles in the Sky" that soar across the quilt being raffled off by the Washington County Republican Women to benefit their "Supporting Our Troops" scholarship fund. The Washington County Republican Women (WCRW) provide a scholarship each year to Dixie State College for veterans of the US military who have served in the Middle East. UDOT Region 4 Weekly Construction Report
The Utah Department of Transportation has selected to reconstruct the Bluff Street Interchange (Exit 6) at I-15 in St. George, Utah. Installing raised center medians. Ramp paving. Landscaping. Business access construction on Main Street. Expect traffic restrictions on the ramps this week and possible lane closures at night. At the Atkinville Interchange (I-15 Milepost 2) workers will continue landscaping. The adjacent rest area is being used for retaining wall construction. The east side of the interchange accessing the Southern Parkway remains closed to the public. No major traffic impacts are expected. On I-15; Washington To Cottonwood Creek, Milepost 10 to 19, workers are repairing overpass beams and paraput ends. Shoulder excavation work continues. Heavy machinery continues clearing ground for an auxiliary truck lane. Trench work for fiber optic cable continues east and parallel to the interstate. Small crushing activity and material moving. Expect minimal delays as traffic merges into one lane both Northbound and Southbound from north of the Hurricane exit to Milepost 19. Flagging operations during night under the S.R. 9 overpass. The Washington County Children's Justice Center is holdign their Shotgun Golf Tournament at the Sand Hollow Resort & Golf Course, Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 8:00 am.
