Volunteer at the Chamber!!!

Looking for a fun way to fill your time? Have a few extra hours a week you could spare? Come Volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce! Volunteers are essential to the Chamber's daily operations. Volunteers work a four hour shift one day a week. The morining shift is 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and the afternoon shift is 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. We currently looking for Volunteers to work Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Responsibilities include answering phones, helping visitors with area information, and assembling relocation packets for mailing. We offer training! Dixie State College of Utah students, faculty and staff have joined together to raise money on behalf of their student body president, Brock Bybee, who is facing major surgery in the coming weeks. The 23-year old Bybee, a senior from Roy, Utah, is set to undergo necessary brain surgery next month, soon after he dons his cap and gown in graduating with his Bachelor?s degree in Communication. The Red Rock Rotary Club presents the "Red Rock Music Festival". This First Annual Mother's Day Weekend event will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Vernon Worthen Park. The Red Rock Rotary Club, in conjunction with the Southern Utah Songwriters Association will present ten local bands that will perform free of charge. Don't miss out on this great day of fun and music in the park. This is a Red Rock Rotary Club and 95.9, The Hawk fundraiser for children in Washington County, Sponsored by Rice Brown Financial. Ceramic Madness Invites You to Participate in the Stress Buster Arts & Craft Fair

Calling on all Crafters! Need a place to sell your crafts? Do you Quilt, scrapbook, beading, make jewelry, dolls, ceramics, woodworking, rugs, or anything else? Participate in the Stress Buster Craft Fair! The price for a 10x10 space (you provide table, and canopy, they have white plastic chairs) Is $35.00 ($5.00 of that will be sent to the state). The Fair will be held in the North Bluff Plaza. Between Subway and Sinclair Gas station on the opposite side of the street. (Between 500 & 400 North on Bluff Street). UDOT Region 4 Weekly Construction Report

The Utah Department of Transportation has selected to reconstruct the Bluff Street Interchange (Exit 6) at I-15 in St. George, Utah. Workers are constructing and pouring center medians, Ramp finishing, Landscaping, Business access construction and Street clean-up. There will be Bluff Street lane closures. At the Atkinville Interchange (I-15 Milepost 2) workers will continue landscaping. The adjacent rest area is being used for retaining wall construction. The east side of the interchange accessing the Southern Parkway remains closed to the public. No major traffic impacts are expected. On I-15; Washington To Cottonwood Creek, Milepost 10 to 19, paving has begun on northbound lanes north of milepost 16. Shoulder work continues on the southbound lanes in the same area. Heavy machinery continues clearing ground for an auxiliary truck lane. This excavation may continue around the clock. Trench work for fiber optic cable continues east and parallel to the interstate. Small crushing activity and material moving is ongoing. Speed has been reduced to 65 mph from Hurricane exit to milepost 19 in both directions. Expect minimal delays as traffic merges into one lane in that area. Intermittent lane closures during the evening.
