UDOT Region 4 Weekly Construction Report
The Utah Department of Transportation has selected to reconstruct the Bluff Street Interchange (Exit 6) at I-15 in St. George, Utah. Landscaping and finish work continues on the interchange. Business accesses on main street will undergo renovation to prepare for new asphalt. Expect traffic restrictions at night as construction crews install pipe across Bluff Street. Entrances to Main Street businesses near the intersection with Bluff Street will be modified this week. At the Atkinville Interchange (I-15 Milepost 2) workers will continue landscaping and construction activity continues as workers use the adjacent rest area for a staging area and concrete wall construction. The east side accessing the Southern Parkway remains closed. No major traffic impacts are expected. On I-15; South of Bluff Street to Washington (Mileposts 6 - 10) Crews continue to install advanced traffic management systems including fiber optic cable. No traffic impacts this week. The Red Rock Rotary Club is creating the "Red Rock Music Festival". This will be an annual event on Mother's Day Weekend. This year it will be on May 9, 2009. This will be a free concert in the park with Southern Utah Songwriters Association. Ten bands will perform.
