Santa Clara Mural Excites Curiosity Across the Atlantic
In case you haven’t heard, Santa Clara is in the process of having a mural painted in the new Santa Clara Town Hall. The mural spans the 27 foot width of the upper balcony in the hall and illustrates the amazing journey of Santa Clara’s Swiss immigrant population who left the lush green valleys of Switzerland in 1861 to settle amongst red rocks and lava fields in Santa Clara. American Association of University Women Outreach Program
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) outreach program will be held at the Dixie State College Gardner Center on February 2nd at 11:30 am. Their speaker, Dr. Sharon Richens, will share her expertise at this event. Dr. Richens is a board-certified physician and surgeon specializing in the full spectrum of eye diseases and conditions. She is licensed to practice medicine in five states and has been awarded hospital privileges in three southern Utah medical facilities as well as in Idaho and Washington State. With many theatre companies across the country closing because of the recent economic downturn, the Utah Shakespearean Festival is tightening its belt and making adjustments and cutbacks to its 2009 season to ensure its continued artistic and financial solvency. The Utah Department of Transportation has selected to reconstruct the Bluff Street Interchange (Exit 6) at I-15 in St. George, Utah. Paint crews will work under the structure this week. One lane of traffic will be closed under the interchange Monday and possibly Tuesday. On I-15; South of Bluff Street to Washington (Mileposts 6 - 10) Crews continue to install advanced traffic management systems including fiber optic conduit and cable. No traffic impacts this week.
