“Operation School Bell” is being presented a grant check for $1,000 from John Anderson of Red Rock Rotary

Operation School Bell was chosen because of the children in the Washington County School District who might not have the means for new school clothing. The money will be used to purchase new school clothing for under privileged children in Washington County this coming Fall. Research shows when children have appropriate school clothing their esteem increases, and classroom performance and school attendance improve. Students referred by school counselors and teachers receive jeans, coats, shirts, sweatshirts, underwear, socks, toothpaste and toothbrushes. Assistance League of Southern Utah has just been chartered these past few months. This is a national non-profit organization that assists children in need. “Working together we can help children stay in school and break the cycle of poverty.”
