School of Life Foundation – presents March Mayhem in the Desert Winners

Trophies for the First Annual Mayhem in the Desert community event are presented to representatives of the winning teams by the trophy sponsors. Questar Gas sponsored the trophy for the High School Division, whose winner was the Rec-N-Crew high school seniors from Washington County (104-98) in overtime over the Raw Team. Far West Bank sponsored the Community Organization Division, whose winner was Impact of Southern Utah over the St. George Fire Department (77-75) in overtime. DSC Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Band Unite for Final Concert of 2007-08 Season Tuesday Night

The Dixie State College Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Band will present its final concert of the year on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m., in the Dolores Dore’ Eccles Fine Arts Center Concert Hall on the Dixie State College campus. The DSC orchestra is under the direction of Dr Paul Abegg, while the orchestra band is directed by Gary Caldwell. The Downtown Farmers Market is currently seeking vendors to sell their homegrown, homemade and/or locally produced goods

Pine View High School Class of 1988 10k/5k Fun Run - '88 & Beyond'

The 1988 Pine View High School Graduating Class is trying to raise scholarship funds for the Pine View High School Class of 2008 and classes beyond. They are ready to receive funds through Pam Graf at the Foundation for Students of Washington County. 100% of the registration fees will go towards this scholarship fund. Intermountain Homecare & Hospice hosts Bereavement Support Group

Losing a loved one is not something anyone would choose to experience, yet most everyone has, or will sometime suffer the loss of a spouse, parent, child, family member, or friend. Intermountain Homecare & Hospice in St. George will host an eight-week bereavement support group beginning April 3. The group will meet on Thursdays from 4-5:30 p.m. through May 22 at Intermountain Homecare (1240 East 100 South, Bldg. 22, Suite 219). Sessions are free of charge and open to anyone interested. St. George Recreation Center Offers Acro-Gymnastic Tumbling Class

The St. George Recreation will be offering an Acro Gymnastic/Tumbling Class starting April 26, 2008 for 6 weeks. Teresa Hill-Putman will be teaching students how to develop flexibility, balance, coordination, muscle strength, and tumbling skills. Some skills taught include rolls, cartwheels, walkovers, handsprings and much more! There will be three divisions offered: Beginner (5 years and older), Intermediate (7 years and older) and Advanced (9 years and older). The Beginner class will start at 9:00 am; Intermediate class at 10:00 am and the Advanced class at 11:00 am. The class fee is $36 per student and you may register at the St George Recreation Center or at www.activityreg.com. Class sizes are limited and will fill up fast.
