This season, Celebrity Concert Series audiences will thrill to some of the finest artists and entertainment available anywhere in the world. The famous King’s singers from England, the Ten Tenors from Germany and Austria; the magical Irish singers and dancers in Leahy; the timeless opera Tosca from Denmark and the prestigious St. Petersburg Ballet Company from Russia are just some of the distinguished concerts this season. St. George Area Chamber Advocates Visit Legislature
Three representatives of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce met with legislators in Salt Lake City on Friday, February 15, to express the position of the Chamber on a variety of issues important to the community and to business interests. Terance White, Paula Bell and Terri Draper of the Community Action Committee drove to Salt Lake City to meet with legislators and to express the Chamber position on key issues. The Chamber voiced its support for measures that will strengthen Dixie State College and the Dixie Applied Technology College. The Chamber took positions on multiple measures aimed at making healthcare more accessible and affordable to workers. The Chamber also stressed the need for action to be taken at the state level to curb illegal immigration since efforts at the federal level have been abandoned and because acting independently as a city or county would be ineffective and punitive to businesses operating within those jurisdictions.

The St. George Area Chamber of Commerce is closely monitoring progress on these and many other bills as the session continues. Representative David Clark is scheduled to report to the Chamber of Commerce with a wrap-up of the legislative session at the Weekly Chamber Luncheon on Wednesday, March 12.
