Chamber Bylaws To Be Changed?
The Board of Directors of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce will consider amendments to the bylaws of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce at its regularly scheduled board meeting on October 22, 2008. The proposed changes will add a conflict of interest policy, clarify voting rights of board members, standardize language and make other technical amendments. Members ONLY may request an email copy of the proposed changes at russ@stgeorgechamber.com. The request must state the name of the requesting individual and the member business.

2008 Jubilee of Trees Partners with Kohl’s and Local Elementary Schools

Dixie State College Homecoming Week 2008 Set for Oct. 6-11
"Dixie ­ Always and Forever" serves as the theme for the 2008 Dixie State College of Utah Homecoming Week Oct. 6-11. The annual rite of the fall season is filled with a number of exciting events and activities for all students, DSC alumni and the community. The week wraps up Saturday night with the annual Alumni Homecoming Banquet at 7 p.m., in the Old Gym. Speaking at this year's banquet will be Jerry Atkin, while Joy Atkin will be presented with Distinguished Alumni award, and Lois Iverson will be given the Distinguished Service award. Tickets for the banquet may be purchased for $12. The Homecoming Dance, entitled "Autumn in New York," will follow at 9 p.m. in the Gardner Ballroom. Rotary Club of Red Rock Interact Club of Dixie High School

On October 10th, the Southern Utah Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs is holding the monthly ice cream social for the Deaf and others with Hearing Loss. Poinsettia Sales Fundraiser to Benefit the Children's Justice Center
The Washington County Children's Justice Center announces their annual Poinsettia Sales fundraiser. The locally-grown plants come in red, white, Jester (red holly leaf), Peppermint (white with splash of red) and pink colors this year. Cost remains $10 each or $8.50 each if you order more than 5. Plants will be ready for pickup on three dates – Nov. 24, Dec. 1 and Dec. 8th from 12- 5 p.m. at the Children's Justice Center. Place your order by calling them at 435-634-1134. These vibrant, healthy, full plants contribute to a cheerful office décor, and make excellent gifts for clients, employees and friends. Orders must be placed in advance. Drip trays are available for an additional $1 per plant.

The Fun Kids Club is getting together on October 18th, 2008 from 9:00 am to 11: 00 am to paint the pinata for the Halloween party coming up on October 31st. UDOT Region 4 Weekly Construction Report
The Utah Department of Transportation has selected to reconstruct the Bluff Street Interchange (Exit 6) at I-15 in St. George, Utah. Off-ramp work will continue. Workers are installing signs and advanced traffic management systems on I-15. Construction on the bridge will continue into winter. Please slow down and watch for construction workers and equipment. Drivers should be aware of access points. Off-ramps are still under construction. Slow to 15 mph to exit the freeway.
