Red Rock Rotary Club will be hosting a dinner, dance at SunRiver September 28, for Operation School Bell
They will also be making a financial contribution of $8,000 to Operation School Bell. This 501 C-3 foundation provides school clothing for Washington County children who otherwise could not afford new clothing. Cost to attend this event is $20 per person. The meeting will take place in the Gardner Center Ballroom on the DSC campus beginning at 7:00 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public. Earlier this month, Dixie State's Board of Trustees approved a resolution for the institution to begin initial discussions and research into extending and enhancing the affiliation between DSC and the University of Utah. The proposed resolution could potentially lead to a major change in the College's overall strategic plans and direction, along with a possible new identity, as both institutions consider ways in which a partnership might better serve the higher educational needs of southwestern Utah.

SOUTHERN UTAH HERITAGE CHOIR
To welcome the participants and friends of the Huntsman World Senior Games to Southern Utah, the BYU Emeriti Alumni Association will sponsor an evening event in the St. George Tabernacle on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 7:00 pm. The theme of the evening will be “Connecting Friends Worldwide” and will feature a message by Merrill J. Bateman, general authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and former president of Brigham Young University, as well as music by the Southern Utah Heritage Choir, under the direction of Dr. Keith Bradshaw and Dr. Nancy Allred. The evening is free and open to the public.

Bridge Rehabilitation Project To Cause Short Delays through I-15 Virgin River Gorge in Northern Arizona
Motorists should plan for brief delays on Arizona’s stretch of Interstate 15 (I-15) through the Virgin River Gorge as part of a bridge rehabilitation project from milepost 13 to milepost 23. Construction activities will begin Monday, September 24, 2007. The project is scheduled to be complete by June 2008.
