This weeks luncheon will be held on September 5, 2007 at the Abbey Inn from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm.

Mountain Land Rehabilitation has been providing Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy in Southern Utah for the past fourteen years and has now been a member of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce for six years. Mountain Land Rehabilitation offers services at the Mendenhall clinic, Medical Park, Sterling Court, Redcliffs Regional Care Center, Cliffview Assisted Living, the Meadows Retirement Center, Ivins clinic, Hurricane Rehab Center, and in individual’s homes. Mountain Land also has operations in Cedar City, Kanab, and Mesquite. Many different programs are available to treat people with injuries, illnesses, arthritis, sports pains, COPD, cancer, heart conditions, and many other ailments. Mountain Land Rehabilitation has several licensed professionals on staff.

Truck drivers get treat at Port of Entry
More than 70 volunteers from the Southern Utah Trucking Association, St. George Chamber of Commerce and regional law enforcement handed cold drinks, fresh fruit and packaged desserts to truck drivers as they passed through the north and south ports of entry....more

United Way Dixie will officially kick-off their “2007 United Way Day of Caring” campaign on September 6th and 7th
All volunteers will register and enjoy a breakfast donated by Staheli’s Catering, Thursday September 6th and Friday September 7th, at 8:00 a.m. at Vernon Worthen Park, located on 400 East in St. George. Volunteers from local businesses and the community partner together with their enthusiasm and talents to do projects for local non-profit agencies in our area. The St George Exchange Club presents- The 20th Annual Marathon Mayors’ Walk
Join with Mayor McArthur October 6, 2007 for the 7am start of the 2.1 mile walk from Bluff Street Park to the marathon finish line at Worthen Park in time to enjoy a scone breakfast before the arrival of the Marathon Wheelchair Division participants and the runners. Local crisis pregnancy center to hold 1st annual golf tournament
Hope Pregnancy Care Center will be hosting its 1st annual golf tournament on Monday, October 1st, at The Ledges. The event will be hosted by football great, Jay Schroeder of the Washington Redskins. There will be a shotgun scramble starting at 9:00 a.m. A buffet lunch will be provided following the game. Hole sponsors include Steven Wade, who will be offering a Cadillac for anyone who gets a hole-in-one. The cost for participation is $150.00 per player, or $600 per four-man team. There is still space available for teams and individuals. We are also looking for businesses to sponsor holes. RIBBON CUTTINGS AND OPEN HOUSES
Bobby Lawerence Karate will be having a Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting on Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th of September.
The Ribbon Cutting will be on Friday, September 14th, from 11:30 until about 2, and they will be teaching free lessons on Saturday for the Grand Opening from about 9 am until around 2pm. They will have instructors from many of the other karate schools there, and they are planning on Bobby Lawrence being there for the Grand Opening. Come and enjoy!

Through the hard work with the InfoWest staff, volunteers and local church, business and civic leaders, who help keep Dixie Care and Share afloat - often on less than a shoestring- the establishment has been doing well in previous years. This is a collection of new art in honor of the tenth anniversary of the St. George Art Museum in the beautiful Pioneer Center for the Arts Complex. PaintAmerica “Top100” Show Makes Final Tour Appearance at St. George Art Museum from July 21 to September 22, 2007
The Exhibit will be shown at St. George Museum, 47 East 200 North in St. George, Utah from July 21st to September 22nd. The show features a selection of paintings from the 2006 PaintAmerica Top100 competition, one of the richest national artists’ competitions in prize money and purchase awards. Also included in the exhibit are selections from the “Mini Top50”, a special exhibit for paintings of 180 square inches or less...more
