SouthWest Federal Credit Union is collecting yarn, material, batting and fleece to make lap quilts and blankets which will be donated to pediatric and intensive care units of area hospitals.

Last year, SouthWest Federal donated more than 355 lap quilts and blankets to the hospitals in Cedar City, St. George and Mesquite. The goal this year is to increase the number of lap quilts to 400. With the help of local citizens, they are sure to reach this goal. Quilting frames will be set up in the lobbies of SouthWest Federal Credit Union branches during the last week of August where anyone is welcome to come in and help tie the quilts. Finished lap quilts and blankets are scheduled to be delivered to the hospitals by the early November.

The Summit Tennis Academy is excited for summer!

Their junior programs are going to be great! Monday, Wednesday and Friday they will have Team Summit – a drop in clinic for all ages 5-18. Team Summit goes from 8:00 am – 9:30 am. The cost is $12 (non-members pay an additional $5 guest fee). On Tuesdays and Thursdays, they have their ALL STAR Junior program. This is a one hour class from 8:00 am – 9:00 am for ages 5 – 10.
