The 14th Annual Spectrum and St. George Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo 2007 starts TOMORROW!!!

This two-day extravaganza will begin TOMORROW, June 27th and go til THURS. June 28th (1-5pm on the 27th and 10-5 pm on the 28th), and has an estimated attendance of 5,000 to 7,000 consumers. KCSG Television will be broadcasting during their 'First News' at 5:30 pm on the opening day from the Expo. Join Cameron Chow and the KCSG News Team for this special event on KCSG-TV on Wednesday, June 27th at 5:30pm. Be sure to come and check it out! This year, for the first time at the Expo, we will have an “After Hours Event” on Wednesday, June 27th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm on the Exhibit floor.

The event is sponsored by the Canyon Media Group and will be held after the Expo closes. Come network and have fun in Boomtown! This event is for exhibitors and Chamber members only. The 2007 Chamber Workshop Series Presents The Chamber “Chill-Out”.

The hot summer months of July and August are the perfect time to “Chill-Out” at a free two hour Stress Reduction Workshop. Workshop size is limited to 20 people. Select from two sessions: July 12 at 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm or August 16 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The workshop will be led by Pat Sapio. There is no charge, but you must RSVP to Trudy @ 628-1650 ext. 3

The Tony Award-Winning Utah Shakespearean Festival begins its 2007 season on June 21st with Twelfth Night.

“A single gypsy violin player enters the stage area. He plays a searingly beautiful and melancholic tune that tears at our hearts and sets the tone for this Twelfth Night, set in the Balkans.” So begins director B. J. Jones’s vision for the opening of one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies this summer at the Utah Shakespearean Festival. Then, suddenly, the stage is filled with merchants, seamen, pirate warriors, and gypsies. It’s a splash of color and a cry of joyous celebration! Twelfth Night runs from June 21 to September 1, 2007. Everyone loves a PARADE! THE WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIR PARADE is coming up Saturday, August 11th.

Max Bunnell - Retrospective of an Artful Life Now through August 25 Sears Museum Gallery, Dixie State College Dolores Dore' Eccles Fine Arts Center

Max Bunnell, is an accomplished water and oil painter and excellent sketch draftsman, but he is much more than that. Max has been a beloved teacher for 51 years, sharing his talents with eager students, many of whom have become renowned artists themselves. Many times, Max anonymously provided funds to help students go on art trips, buy art supplies, and to continue their education. He has been the instrumental force in Moapa Valley in bringing the arts to that community and building a prestigious art collection there. The DSC Sears Invitational Show and Sale began because Max had created one of the most successful shows in the region; but, most of all his kind and generous persona is reflected in the content of his artwork and it is that same artful spirit that we honor in him. The exhibit features a number of his water and oil paintings, along with various sketches. The Sears Museum Gallery will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-through-Thursday. DSC's Summer Concert Series at the O.C. Tanner Amphitheater in Springdale, continues Saturday, June 30, with the folk music renderings of Montana Skies.

Montana Skies creates a unique new sound, from finger-picking to flamenco, with the unusual pairing of cello and guitar. The core of the group Montana Skies is husband and wife team Jonathan Adams on guitars (steel string and spanish/nylon) and Jennifer Adams on cellos (acoustic cello and her custom 6-String Electric cello). Montana Skies has an extensive tour schedule which has taken them all across the US, Canada and to Asia.
