He will share information regarding a new wireless fiber system which will be available in Washington County. This technology has not been available in North or South America before. It was developed in Sweden and has been operating in various countries for seven years. This system will deliver very, very High Speed Internet, VOIP phone and High Definition Television. Sandy Vincent is the Chamber Volunteer of the Month for April.
She and her husband Tom moved to St. George a year and a half ago from Omaha, Nebraska. Sandy is a faithful Friday volunteer each week at the Chamber and also donates several hours a week at the hospital thrift shop, Repeat Performance. One of her great loves is line dancing which she also does regularly. Thank you Sandy for all you do to keep the Chamber office running smoothly.

Valpak of southern Utah Announces the New Mover Mailer, an advertising medium that reaches the new movers in the Washington County.
Every month a list is obtained of the new movers in Washington County and a brochure of coupons is mailed to them. The booklet is 8’ 1/2 by 11’ and each coupon is a third of a page. Cost is going to be $960 for 10,000 brochures! (Can break up into 6 payments of $160 a month if needed) It’s a great way to reach new clients; Washington County averages about 700 new movers a month! Dixie Escalante Electric Kite Festival 2007 to be held Saturday, April 21st.
Dixie Escalante Electric is planning for a great Kite Festival this year! They have made a few changes that will make things better and easier for 2007. In the previous years they have had Friday night activities and Saturday activities. This year all activities are on Saturday including the free concert and fireworks show in the evening. They expect great talent on stage this year including a battle of the bands. The Kite Festival is not just for little children. It is for people of all ages and families including retirees.
