CHAMBER LUNCHEON
Please join us for our weekly Chamber Luncheon on Wednesday, March 28th from noon to 1:00pm. It will be held at the DSC Gardner Center. This week’s topic speakers are Hyrum Smith-CEO,

Kevin Smith-COO, Shandon Gubler-Board of Directors Chairman and Scott Anderson-Artistic Director from Tuacahn Amphitheater and Center for the Arts. Did you know….The name Tuacahn originally was taken from an ancient Indian dialect which is said to have the meaning “Canyon of the Gods Thousands of people flock to the Tuacahn outdoor musical productions on an annual basis. The outdoor amphitheater holds approximately 2,000 people and the setting for this theater is spectacular. Sandstone cliffs ranging over 1,500 feet above the valley floor of this box canyon make up the backdrop to these world-class theatrical musicals.

Shows usually run from June to early September and then a fall season runs from mid-September to mid-October. Throughout the year there are other productions and presentations that are offered. Singing, dancing, instrumental and other types of concerts are a frequent offering. Tuacahn is right next door to Snow Canyon State Park. In fact the boundaries of Snow Canyon State Park come to the edge of the Tuacahn property. These facilities were constructed in the early 1990’s by Hyrum Smith and business is conducted as a non-profit Operation.

Much of the visitation to Tuacahn comes from Las Vegas and the Salt Lake City area (Wasatch Front Region), however visitors from around the world have seen the magnificent productions. Magnificent costuming, special effects and amazing set-designs are some of the reasons people continue to visit this outdoor amphitheater year after year. 2007 attendees will enjoy Tuacahn’s season line up of Cinderella, My Fair Lady, Little Shop of Horrors and 42nd Street. Reserve your tickets today!

St. George Costco Wholesale is our luncheon sponsor this week.

This will give your business huge exposure throughout the entire month of May. They would appreciate your participation in this event and contribution to a great cause. CHAMBER BRIEFS
A Special Shout-Out of Kudos and Recognition to the Dixie Sunshiners, who enthusiastically volunteer their time and energy as Ambassador’s for the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce.
One of the ways the Sunshiners lend their support to our business community is by attending Ribbon Cuttings, Grand Openings and Ground Breaking Ceremonies, as their schedule allows. These dedicated folks step away from their own business responsibilities in support and recognition of other businesses and organizations in the St. George Area. Thursday, March 22nd, got dubbed the ‘Marathon Ribbon Cutting Day’, as four Ribbon Cuttings got scheduled for the same day. But true to form, they just donned their running shoes and took off, showing up in high spirits and big smiles, as evidenced by this group of Sunshiners who were in attendance at the Main Street Bridge Ribbon Cutting. So a Big Thanks, to the Dixie Sunshiners, for their dedication and stellar representation as Ambassadors of the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce. Sunshiner photo was taken on the new Main Street Bridge. S=Sunshiner l-r: Marc Mortenson-Asst. City Manager, Jon Pike (S), Ro Wilkinson (S), Suzanne Allen, City Councilwoman, Mayor Dan McArthur, Al Thorne (S), Paula Bell (S), Jack Rolfe (S), Sandee Cord (S), Melzie Ganowsky (S), Ray Ganowsky (S)
