SouthWest Federal Credit Union is our luncheon sponsor this week.

Born out of the Great Depression era in 1937, SouthWest Federal Credit Union remains a vital part of our community as they celebrate 70 years of service. The Aug. 26, 1937 edition of the Washington County News makes mention of the formation of Dixie Cooperative Federal Credit Union, labeling it as “a thrift organization of the self-help order.” That same mission, to help its members and the community as a whole, remains today. SouthWest Federal continues to expand while still remaining focused on each individual member. In September, SouthWest Federal broke ground on a new branch being built in Mesquite. And this month, as a way to celebrate their progress and service to the community, SouthWest Federal is giving away a 2007 Pontiac G5 at Downtown Thursday Night on Oct. 25. As economic prosperity has come and gone and 70 years has been witness to both depression and recession, SouthWest Federal Credit Union continues to serve the communities of Southern Utah with nearly 20,000 members. Born in the red dirt of Dixie 70 years ago they have the red dirt between their toes and are here to serve the needs of a still growing community.
